Marc van Woerkom has been recognized in University of Otago newsroom features for his wildlife photography. During a trip to Brooks Falls, Alaska, accessed by a small sea plane, he photographed brown bear cubs practicing hunting skills near their mother fishing in the water. Another featured image captures his dog Lua running towards him during her first holiday in Riverton while he was photographing birds. He shared, “I love capturing their existence, trying to tell their story as they cannot,” highlighting his passion for documenting wildlife.
