Dr. Malini Sathappan is a Lecturer in the Department of Management and Marketing at Curtin University Malaysia's Faculty of Business. She earned her PhD from Universiti Putra Malaysia's Faculty of Educational Studies between 2012 and 2017, and a Master's in Human Resource Development from the same university from 2008 to 2010. Her academic interests focus on human resource management, particularly during her doctoral studies at the Department of Professional Development and Continuing Education at UPM. At Curtin, she contributes as a Level 2 supervisor and internal reviewer for postgraduate research students in MPhil and PhD programs.
Dr. Sathappan's research specializations include organizational behaviour, Green HRM, organizational development, teaching and learning, sustainability, and supply chain management. She has published several papers on topics such as deviant workplace behavior, bribery in public organizations, effects of technology on peer relationships, TESL student-teachers' practicum practices, and hybrid learning outcomes. Notable publications are "Exploring Causes of Bribery: A Case Study in a Public Organization in Malaysia" (2016, International Journal of Human Resource Studies), "Exploring Types of Deviant Workplace Behavior in a Public Organization in Malaysia" (2016), "The Effects of Technology on Peer Relationships and Interpersonal Understanding" (2017), "TESL Student-Teachers’ Perspectives of Practicum Practices" (2018), "Effectiveness and learning outcomes of hybrid learning in higher education" (2025, Journal of Applied Research in Higher Education), and "Perception of Deviant Workplace Behaviour and Antecedents" (2024). Her work on Google Scholar has 29 citations. Furthermore, Dr. Sathappan has engaged with the public through Curtin Insight articles, exploring innovative HR practices like voice assistants in recruitment (2021) and the role of Green HRM in employee engagement and talent retention (2025). These contributions highlight her influence in the field of management and human resources.
