Dr. Maka Siwale serves as a Lecturer in the School of Management and Marketing within the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University, Perth, Australia. He is part of the Office of the Provost portfolio and is located at the Curtin Perth campus. Siwale earned his PhD in Information Systems from Murdoch University. Before joining Curtin University, he held academic positions in Information Systems in Tanzania and other institutions in Australia. His expertise lies in applying technology acceptance models and examining information systems challenges in organizational contexts, particularly not-for-profit organizations and educational settings.
Siwale's scholarly contributions include several peer-reviewed publications. In 2025, he co-authored 'Switching mobile learning on in Pakistan: Students’ experiences and perceptions of mobile learning activities and applications,' published in the International Review of Education, which investigated education delivery formats aligned with Pakistan's Vision 2030 using focus group data. His 2022 paper, 'Applying Technology Acceptance Model to measure online student residential management software acceptance,' appeared in the Journal of International Technology and Information Management and utilized Davis's TAM to assess software adoption among students. In 2021, 'Exploring Social Media Adoption in Australian Not-for-Profit Organisations – Does Size Matter?' analyzed social media usage patterns in NfPOs. Additionally, his 2020 work, 'Information Systems Planning Problems in Not-for-Profit Organisations: The Case of Western Australia,' highlighted key IS planning issues in the sector. Siwale teaches units such as ISYS3002 Business Technology Development Capstone and collaborates internationally, including with Curtin Mauritius. He is a member of the Australian Computer Society (MACS CP).
