Professor Lei Li serves as Associate Dean of Student Success in the College of Computing and Software Engineering and Professor of Information Technology at Kennesaw State University. He also holds the positions of Interim Chair and MSIT Coordinator in the Department of Information Technology. Dr. Li's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Computer Information Systems from Georgia State University in 2007, an M.S. in Computer Science from Georgia State University in 2002, and a B.S. in Mineral Processing from China University of Mining and Technology in 1995. Throughout his career at Kennesaw State University, he has contributed to various administrative and academic roles within the computing disciplines, focusing on enhancing student success and program development.
Dr. Li's research specializations encompass web information management, information security, social media data analytics, project management, curriculum development, and IT education. His scholarly output includes numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference proceedings. Notable publications are 'Using Social Media To Improve Student-Instructor Communication In A Distance Learning Environment' by Guo, Shen, and Li (2018, International Journal of Information and Communication Technology Education); 'An Evaluation Framework for Selecting Collaboration Systems for Student Teamwork' by Shen, Li, Zheng, and Guo (2017, same journal); 'A Student-Centered Guest Lecturing: A Constructivism Approach To Promote Student Engagement' by Li and Guo (2015, Journal of Instructional Pedagogies); 'SOM Clustering to Promote Interoperability of Directory Metadata: A Grid-Enabled Genetic Algorithm Approach' by Li, Vaishnavi, and Vandenberg (2010, Journal of Universal Computer Science); and 'The Influence of Checklists and Roles on Software Practitioner Risk Perception and Decision-Making' by Li, Keil, Mathiassen, and Zheng (2008, The Journal of Systems and Software).
