Leanne Hill is an Associate Lecturer in Support for Learning at Murdoch University, based in the Office of Learning, Teaching and Technology within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor's Education Portfolio. As a Learning Advisor, her specializations encompass Applied Linguistics, Academic Skills, and Academic Language, reflecting her deep expertise in supporting diverse student needs. She began her distinguished teaching career as a classroom teacher in Singapore, building over three decades of experience in education. Approximately twenty years ago, she moved to Australia, where she has taught both domestic and international students, finding this work immensely enriching and a continuous source of motivation as an educator.
Hill regards teaching and learning as a perpetual journey for both educators and students, marked by occasional steep learning curves that foster growth. In the age of artificial intelligence, she firmly believes that the human presence of educators is crucial, serving as a vital link in helping students cultivate soft skills, achieve success, and maintain their humanity in an ever more complex world. Her contributions extend to curriculum development and quality assurance at Murdoch University. She has been involved in the major reviews of the MSP200 unit, Building Employability Skills, including contributions noted in 2022 and subsequent updates by teams including Dr. Kim Hudson, Andrea Hailes, Dr. Samuel Teague, Rick Mason, Barry Mannolini-Winwood, and others through 2024 and 2025. This work supports ongoing enhancements to promote employability skills among students. Through her roles, Leanne Hill plays a key part in Murdoch University's commitment to innovative learning and teaching practices, academic support, and student-centered education initiatives.
