Dr. Kyaw Moe Khaing serves as Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Airport Management at Myanmar Aerospace Engineering University (MAEU), a public specialized university focused on aerospace engineering education and research. His academic background includes an A.G.T.I. in Civil from Mandalay Government Technical Institute in Myanmar, a B.E. in Aeronautical Engineering from Yangon Technological University in Myanmar, and a Ph.D. in Aeronautical Engineering from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in China. These credentials position him to contribute significantly to airport management and aviation development in the aerospace engineering domain.
Dr. Khaing's research specializations and academic interests encompass the future of the Myanmar aviation industry, development of quality management systems, and advancements in teaching-learning progressions. He is currently involved in developing and implementing initial quality management systems and accreditation processes to support MAEU and the Myanmar aerospace industry. His key publications include 'The Influence Analysis of Rainfalls on the Aerodynamic Characteristics of Aircraft,' published in June 2009 in the Journal of Aeronautical Science and Technology (China), and 'Calculations of Aircraft Performance in the presence of Heavy Rain,' published in March 2010 in the Journal of Flight Dynamics (China). As head of the Department of Airport Management, established under State Peace and Development Council Law No.2/2002 and operational since January 6, 2014, he oversees a program offering a Post Graduate Diploma in Airport Management through nine months of coursework followed by a three-month pilot project. The department aims to cultivate skilled human resources for airport management, plans to establish a simulation lab, and utilizes a small-scale model of Mandalay International Airport for practical training.
