Dr. Judy Gregg, DNP, RN, serves as Associate Professor of Nursing and Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Mount Vernon Nazarene University (MVNU), a position she assumed in June 2025 following her prior role as Dean of the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. She joined MVNU as Associate Professor in 2011. Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Carlow University in 2017, a Master of Science in Nursing in Community Health Nursing from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1990, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Regents College, University of New York in 1989, and a Diploma in Nursing from Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing in 1984. Dr. Gregg's professional career encompasses over 38 years in nursing, including Nursing Administrator at OhioHealth in Mansfield, Ohio from 2002 to 2022, Adjunct Clinical Instructor at North Central State College from 2005 to 2007, Case Manager and Staff Nurse at Interim Health Care in Falls Church, Virginia from 1990 to 1993, and Assistant Nurse Coordinator at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee from 1984 to 1989.
Dr. Gregg's scholarship emphasizes nurse policy entrepreneurship in rural communities, employing a Multiple Streams Framework to advance traffic safety policies. She co-authored the peer-reviewed article 'Nurse Policy Entrepreneurship in a Rural Community: A Multiple Streams Framework Approach' in OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing (Volume 23, No. 3, July 31, 2018). She presented related research at the Joint ACHNE/APHNE Conference (2016), STTI Rho Nu Fall Meeting (2016), ACHNE Annual Institute (2017 podium), and STTI Biennial Convention (2017). Her leadership has garnered awards including Sigma Theta Tau Rho Nu Chapter Excellence in Nursing Research (2018), Carlow University Anne Denardo McGowan DNP Leadership Award (2017), American Red Cross Good Samaritan Hero (2011), MedCentral Leadership Academy Strategic Leader (2010), and MVNU Employee of the Year (2025). Dr. Gregg presides over Sigma Theta Tau Rho Nu Chapter, belongs to the Association of Community Health Nurse Educators, serves on boards for Knox Community Hospital, Knox County Hospital Foundation, and the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Licking and Knox Counties, leads global service-learning courses, and contributes to university committees.
