Jennifer Bailey is Department Chair and Associate Professor of Clinical & Administrative Sciences in the School of Pharmacy and Health Professions at Notre Dame of Maryland University. She earned her Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stevenson University. In her role, Bailey teaches courses in the Doctor of Pharmacy program, focusing on preparing students for clinical practice through rigorous academic instruction and practical training, including OSCE assessments.
Bailey's research specializations include infectious diseases and human immunodeficiency virus, pharmacokinetics, pharmacodynamics, drug interactions, cardiac transplantation, and pain management, analgesia, and sedation in the intensive care unit. Her scholarly contributions are evidenced by several peer-reviewed publications. These include 'A unique case of Rhizopus oryzae brain abscess treated with intracavitary amphotericin' published in the British Journal of Neurosurgery in 2020 (with Doub JB, Greenfield A, and others); 'A review of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis: the female perspective' in Infectious Diseases and Therapy in 2017 (with Molino ST, Vega AD, Badowski M); 'Probiotics for disease prevention: a focus on ventilator-associated pneumonia' in the Annals of Pharmacotherapy in 2011 (with Yeung SY); and 'Dalbavancin: a new lipoglycopeptide antibiotic' in the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy in 2008 (with Summers KM). She is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy, American Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Maryland Society of Health-System Pharmacists, Rho Chi Honor Society, and Phi Lambda Sigma Honor Society. Bailey, Pharm.D., BCPS, also serves as faculty advisor for student organizations such as the Student Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has been recognized as a COVID-19 faculty expert by the university.
