Janice C. Sipior, Ph.D., is Professor of Management Information Systems (MIS) in the Department of Accounting and Information Systems at Villanova School of Business, Villanova University. She conducts extensive research addressing ethical and legal considerations associated with information systems and managing associated risks. Her publications examine key topics such as bring-your-own-device (BYOD) policies, internet jurisdiction for e-commerce and cloud computing, benefits and risks of social business, privacy concerns associated with smartphone use, email, and online presence, e-discovery, and e-commerce sales and use tax. Additional research focuses on bridging the digital divide for e-government inclusion among the digitally disadvantaged, frameworks for enterprise-wide Wi-Fi network access security, employee email privacy, and information security management based on guiding standards from a United States perspective. Sipior's scholarly output includes 52 items cataloged in Villanova University's Digital Library, reflecting her substantial contributions to the field.

Since 2007, she has served as editor of the journal Information Systems Management. Sipior was a member of the Association for Computing Machinery’s (ACM) Code of Ethics Update Task Force. She delivers keynote addresses, including at the 11th Annual PwR Doctoral Symposium, and serves as a faculty mentor in Information Assurance and Audit for Management Information Systems students.
