Dr. Ong Huey Fang is a Senior Lecturer and Course Coordinator at the School of Information Technology, Monash University Malaysia. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Science in Intelligent Computing from Universiti Putra Malaysia, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia. Before joining Monash University Malaysia, she held academic and leadership roles at private higher education institutions and gained industry experience in the software testing group at the Board Design Center Malaysia, Intel Product Malaysia. In her current position, she contributes to teaching, curriculum development, and student supervision in data science and artificial intelligence, while leading academic initiatives.
Her research interests encompass artificial intelligence, machine learning, data mining, and bioinformatics, with a focus on biomarker discovery using multi-omics data analytics, including transcriptomic, genomic, proteomic, and metabolomic data for cancer biomarkers and drug discovery. She also explores natural language processing, speech and gesture recognition, immersive technologies, software engineering, health and medical informatics, and interdisciplinary intelligent systems. Dr. Ong has led funded projects in artificial intelligence, data science, and biomedical informatics. Notable publications include 'Anatomical Graph-Based Multilevel Distillation for Robust Alzheimer’s Disease Diagnosis with Missing Modalities' (2026), 'Amogel: a multi-omics classification framework using associative graph neural networks with prior knowledge for biomarker identification' (2025), 'CRAD: Cognitive Aware Feature Refinement with Missing Modalities for Early Alzheimer's Progression Prediction' (2025), 'An industrial IoT-based blockchain-enabled secure searchable encryption approach for healthcare systems using neural network' (2022), and 'Digitalization enhancement in the pharmaceutical supply network using a supply chain risk management approach' (2023). She serves as Honorary Secretary of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society Malaysia Chapter, is a Professional Member of IEEE and ACM, and a Professional Technologist registered with the Malaysia Board of Technologists, reflecting her commitment to advancing AI solutions with societal impact.
