Graeme Jennings serves as Senior Lecturer in Violin and Viola at the Queensland Conservatorium, part of Griffith University's Arts, Education and Law portfolio. In this role, he contributes significantly to music education through teaching, performance, and supervision. Jennings is recognized for directing the Divertimenti String Ensemble, which has performed works such as Mozart's Symphony No. 29 in university recitals. He has also been a longstanding member of the Griffith Trio, the Conservatorium's ensemble-in-residence, participating for over a dozen years. Additionally, he co-directs the Conservatorium Contemporary Collective, a faculty-led group dedicated to exploring contemporary and experimental repertoire with students and community musicians. His performance activities at the Queensland Conservatorium include solo recitals like Tempo di Ciaccona featuring Bach, Bartók, and Ferneyhough, as well as chamber collaborations such as Bartók Violin Sonatas with Stephen Emmerson, Oboe and Friends with Eve Newsome and Sebastien Lipman, and MuTech Underground Series: Whoosh with Yoko Okayasu. Jennings has appeared in events like Plucked and Bowed with Julian Byzantine, The Romantics, and performances with the Kurilpa String Quartet.
As an educator, Jennings supervises postgraduate students in performance-related research, including Phoebe Green's exploration of four Australian works for viola through recordings, analysis, and reflection (2020), and E.A. Cheng's performance preparation of Paul Hindemith's three sonatas for viola and piano (2019). His students have advanced to prestigious opportunities, such as positions in the Queensland Symphony Orchestra Academy. Jennings' prior career includes membership in the Arditti String Quartet from 1994 to 2005, during which he toured extensively performing contemporary music. He maintains involvement with the Elision Ensemble as violinist. In recognition of his 50 years with the violin, Queensland Conservatorium hosted a special anniversary recital for him. Jennings' office is located at S01 1.30 on the South Bank campus, where he supports the Master of Music Research program.
