Gillian Pedley is an Associate Professor and School Director for Workforce Development in the School of Nursing, Allied and Public Health, Department of Adult Nursing and Allied Health, Faculty of Health, Science, Social Care and Education at Kingston University London. She possesses a PhD on predictors of pressure ulceration in elderly orthopaedic in-patients, MSc in Social Research, BSc (Hons) Nursing Sciences, Postgraduate Certificate in Education and Assessment (PGCEA), Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), Registered Nurse (Adult), NMC Stage 4 Teacher, and Neurosciences Nursing Certificate. With substantial experience in higher education, she has designed and managed undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including those approved by professional, statutory, and regulatory bodies. Dr Pedley leads strategic oversight of the School's workforce development provision, encompassing programme delivery, governance, quality assurance, employer-driven clinically focused academic awards, apprenticeships, and bespoke education aligned with healthcare employers' local service needs. She is a member of the School Management Group, Faculty Healthcare Education and Research Evaluation group, and contributes to the Urgent and Emergency Health Care and Workforce Research Group.
Dr Pedley's clinical interests centre on chronic wound prevention and management, and older person care. Her research specializations include factors influencing research productivity in Schools of Nursing, with ongoing work on a systematic review of interventions to enhance academic staff productivity.
