Geoff Delanoy is Professor and Chair of the Art Department in the School of Arts, Sciences & Business at Notre Dame of Maryland University, a position he has held since 2001. He received his Master of Fine Arts in Photography and Digital Imaging from the Maryland Institute College of Art in 1996 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1994. In his leadership role, Delanoy oversees the Art Major program, conducts portfolio reviews, and fosters collaborations across departments, including set design for the university's production of As You Like It in 2022. He supports student opportunities, such as internships at the Baltimore Museum of Art, and engages in service-learning initiatives within the community.
Delanoy's academic interests and artistic practice center on photography that explores themes of change and impermanence in the landscape, capturing the interplay between natural elements and human influence. His work has been exhibited nationally and internationally through numerous solo and group shows. Key solo exhibitions include Ghost Forest at Adkins Arboretum in Ridgely, MD (2022), Trees at Luann Carra Gallery in Baltimore (2020), Rise and Fall at Stephanie Anne Roper Gallery at Frostburg State University (2019), Fugitive Landscapes at Gormley Gallery in Baltimore (2012), and Spectacle of Excess at New Images Gallery at James Madison University (2004). Recent group exhibitions feature Vanishing Landscapes at Dorchester Center for the Arts in Cambridge, MD (2025), Scapes at PH21 Gallery at Valid World Hall in Barcelona, Spain (2024), The Changing Chesapeake at Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD (2024), Contemporary Landscape 2019 at Czong Institute for Contemporary Art in Gimpo, South Korea (2019), and Unexpected at PH21 Gallery in Budapest, Hungary (2015). These exhibitions highlight his contributions to contemporary landscape photography and environmental themes.
