Gamar Abdul Aziz Abdul Aziz is a sessional academic and adjunct lecturer at Curtin University Singapore, part of the Faculty of Humanities. She earned her Master of Education from the University of Adelaide between 2012 and 2014. In her current role, she teaches a range of foundational and specialized courses in communications and academic skills. These include Academic Communication Skills 1 (ACS01S1), designed to enhance students' communication proficiencies for academic purposes; Studies in Society 1 (SIS01S1), which introduces key concepts in social studies; Writing on the Web (NETS2001), focusing on digital content creation; News Writing and Reporting (JOUR1003), providing training in journalistic techniques; and Media, Culture and Consumption (COMS2000), analyzing the interplay between media and societal culture. Her courses support students in the Diploma of Arts and Creative Industries, Diploma of Commerce, and Bachelor of Communications (Top-Up) programs.
Prior to joining Curtin Singapore in October 2024, Gamar Abdul Aziz Abdul Aziz served as a Senior Lecturer in the School of Communication, Arts and Social Sciences at Singapore Polytechnic. There, she instructed courses on writing across media platforms and journalism, and she helmed the Diploma in Creative Writing programme. Drawing from her background as a former journalist, she brings real-world expertise to her teaching, emphasizing practical skills in creative writing, media production, and professional communication.
