Dr. Farzaneh Boroumand serves as an Honorary Research Fellow in the School of Mathematical and Physical Sciences at Macquarie University. She is also a Lecturer in Biostatistics at the University of Sydney. Her academic journey includes a PhD in Statistics from Macquarie University (2019–2021), a PhD in Biostatistics from Mashhad University of Medical Sciences (2016–2021), a Master of Science in Biostatistics from Shahid Beheshti University of Medical Sciences (2013–2016), and a Bachelor of Statistics from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad (2008–2012). These qualifications underscore her expertise bridging mathematical statistics and biostatistical applications in health research.
Boroumand's scholarly contributions encompass advanced statistical methodologies and their application to clinical studies. Notable publications include 'Tilted nonparametric regression function estimation' (2024), a chapter co-authored with Mohammad T. Shakeri, Nino Kordzakhia, Mahdi Salehi, and Hassan Doosti in Flexible Nonparametric Curve Estimation. She contributed to 'Clinical applicability of 2-field high-resolution and extended HLA-allele typing in deceased donor kidney allocation' (2024, HLA: Immune Response Genetics), analyzing kidney transplant allocation with co-authors including Z. Lim, A. Taverniti, and W.H. Lim. Other works feature 'Topical administration of Teucrium polium on diabetic foot ulcers accelerates healing: a placebo-controlled randomized clinical study' (2024, International Journal of Lower Extremity Wounds), 'Pre-hospital and in-hospital ST-elevation myocardial infarction from 2008 to 2020 in Australia' (2023, International Journal of Cardiology: Cardiovascular Risk and Prevention), and 'The effect of a game-based mobile app 'MyHeartMate' to promote lifestyle change in coronary disease patients: a randomized controlled trial' (2023, European Heart Journal - Digital Health). Her research outputs, totaling 18 items including articles and conference contributions, apply statistical techniques to areas such as cardiovascular risk, wound healing, and oral health factors among the elderly.
