Dr. Emmanuel Williams served as Associate Professor and Chair of the Biology Department at Livingstone College from 2021 to 2023 within the Division of Mathematics and Sciences. Emmanuel Williams earned his Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Arkansas (2011-2016) and M.S. in Biology from Texas A&M University (2007-2009). Before joining Livingstone College, he held positions as Associate Research Professor of Neurobiology and Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine (2016-2020), and Interim Department Chair and Pre-Med Advisor at Southern University and A&M College-Baton Rouge (2020-2021). He also served as Infantry Officer (Captain, O-3) in the United States Army National Guard (2009-2016) and Field Service Engineer II at Thermo Fisher Scientific (2017-2018). His expertise spans cell biology, molecular biology, biotechnology, lifesciences, molecular cloning, management, public speaking, team building, and customer service. Following his time at Livingstone College, he became Biology Department Chair at Dallas College.
