Elizabeth Audas serves as Tautiaki Kaiāwhina, known as the College Assistant Warden, at Caroline Freeman College, a residential college owned by the University of Otago and operated through the Director of Campus and Collegiate Life Services. Welcomed as a new staff member in 2024, she has quickly become an integral part of the team, nurturing the unique vibe and culture of the college. Described as vibrant, kind, and full of positive energy, Elizabeth brings a fresh perspective and is always a joy to talk to. She has a natural way of making people feel seen and heard, adding something special to the team and making a difference every day. Living on site, she is available to support residents during afternoons, evenings, and weekends, contributing to their physical, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing alongside other staff members including the Tautiaki, Tautiaki Piki/Deputy Warden, and administrator.
In addition to her role in collegiate life, Elizabeth Audas is actively involved in the performing arts at the University of Otago. In April 2024, she wrote and co-directed the Lunchtime Theatre production "The Young Voter's Debate" at Allen Hall, University of Otago Central Campus. This play featured a special debate focusing on the unique challenges affecting Gen Z and millennial voters. Earlier in March 2024, she directed "White Men," a production presented in association with the University of Otago School of Performing Arts. These creative endeavors demonstrate her skills in theatre direction, writing, and production within the university community.
