Edza Aria Wikurendra is a Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences within the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences at Curtin University Malaysia, Sarawak Campus in Miri. He concurrently serves as Associate Dean of Research and Development for the Faculty of Humanities and Health Sciences and Chair of Research and Development. His academic credentials include a PhD in Management and Organizational Science from the University of Kaposvár (2020-2024), a Master's in Environmental Health from Universitas Airlangga (2016-2018), and a Bachelor's in Environmental Health from STIKes Widyagama Husada Malang (2014-2016).
Prior to his current role starting in 2024, Wikurendra was Assistant Professor of Environmental Health at Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Surabaya from October 2018 and Lecturer in Environmental Health at STIKes Widyagama Husada Malang from May 2016 to August 2018. His research specializes in environmental health, solid waste management, circular economy integration, environmental science, and health sciences, with emphasis on solutions for organic waste in developing countries and Southeast Asia. Studies include black soldier fly larvae for waste decomposition, Takakura composting, PFAS contamination in water, airborne microplastics, and brackish water quality. Key publications encompass 'Faktor faktor yang mempengaruhi kejadian tb paru dan upaya penanggulangannya' (2010, Jurnal Ekologi Kesehatan), 'Urbanization and benefit of integration circular economy into waste management in Indonesia: A Review' (2024, Circular Economy and Sustainability), 'A review on water management issues: potential and challenges in Indonesia' (2022, Sustainable Water Resources Management), 'Covid-19 pandemic, asset prices, risks, and their convergence' (2022, Borsa Istanbul Review), 'Polymerase Chain Reaction–Driven Detection of Leptospira spp. in Urban Rat Populations of Surabaya, Indonesia' (2025), and 'Environmental risks associated with PFAS contamination in water' (2026). His research supports UN Sustainable Development Goals on clean water, sustainable cities, consumption, and climate action. Recognitions include the 2022 Green Talents award, Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship, and Yayasan Sarawak research grant. He advances citizen science for policy impact.
