Edwin Milham is a vocalist and conductor who serves as part-time faculty in the Music Department at Bridgewater State University, teaching voice class and studio voice from his office in Hunt Hall, Room 119. He also holds faculty positions at the University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, where he teaches general studies courses, voice class, and studio voice. Milham earned a Bachelor of Music (BM) and a Master of Music (MM) from the University of Massachusetts, along with an additional Master of Music (MM) from the New England Conservatory of Music. As a bass-baritone vocalist, he has performed with renowned ensembles including LiveARTS, the Franklin Performing Arts Company, the Lowell Opera Company, the Merrimack Valley Broadway Ensemble, the Savoyard Light Opera Company, the Newport Music Festival, and the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. His performance career extends internationally, with tours in Russia and Eastern Europe, as well as Scotland and England.
In addition to his vocal performances, Milham is an accomplished conductor, having directed the Swanhurst Chorus, served as interim director of the Bridgewater State University Alumni Choir, and worked as music director in several area churches. He has taught conducting clinics for the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network. Milham contributes to the Bridgewater State University Music Department as Technology Consultant and Coordinator of Social Media Activities. A versatile multi-instrumentalist, he plays bass and sings with the rock band The Strattones, gigging regularly around South County, Rhode Island. Milham is also a composer and arranger, with extensive experience in graphic design and digital printing. His diverse roles in performance, education, conducting, and technology highlight his broad impact in the music community.
