Dr. Dulani Rajesh Kumar serves as the Medical Superintendent and Professor in the Department of Orthopedics at Abhishek I Mishra Memorial Medical College and Research, Bhilai. He obtained his MBBS from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur in February/March 1997, and MS in Orthopedics from Pt. JLN Medical College, Raipur in July 2000. Currently pursuing a PhD in Orthopaedics at DMIMS DU, Wardha, he is recognized as a postgraduate teacher by DIMIMS University Wardha and MUHS Nashik. His professional journey includes positions at Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC), DMIMS DU, Wardha: Professor and Head of Orthopaedics from 2009 to 2014, Associate Professor from June 2006 to August 2009, Assistant Professor from June 2001 to June 2006, and earlier as Senior Registrar at Bombay Hospital, Mumbai from September 2000 to January 2001.
A permanent member of the Indian Orthopaedic Association (IOA), Vidarbha Orthopaedic Society (VOS), Chhattisgarh Indian Orthopaedic Association (CGIOA), and District Orthopaedic Association (DOA), Dr. Dulani is the founder and chairman of the Wardha Orthopaedic Society and Rajnandgaon Orthopaedic Society. He has undergone extensive training, including three years of specialty training in Orthopedics at Pt. JLN Medical College under Prof. Subeer Mukherjee, a short-term fellowship in spine surgery at Colorado Medical, USA, Denver in 2011, and workshops on microsurgery, medical education technology, and Ponseti method. Dr. Dulani has attended 38 workshops and conferences, organized 13 CMEs and symposia on topics such as critical care in orthopedics, VTE prophylaxis, and musculoskeletal tumors, and delivered 11 guest lectures including on rheumatoid arthritis, DVT prophylaxis, and lumbar canal stenosis. His research includes studies on operative procedures for congenital talipes equinovarus deformity and incidence of DVT after major lower limb surgery. Key publications include "Outcome of management of distal radius fractures in postmenopausal women: experience from rural India" (Nigerian Journal of Orthopaedics and Trauma, 2011), "Pre-hospital care of spinal cord injury in a rural Indian setting" (Rural and Remote Health, 2011), "A rare case report: tubercular spondylodiscitis following lumbar disc surgery" (Asian Pacific Journal of Tropical Medicine, 2010), and "Surgical site infection and clinical microbiology in orthopaedics surgeries in a rural hospital" (Journal of Hainan Medical University, 2011).
