Debbie Lobb serves as a Lecturer in the Curtin School of Allied Health within the Faculty of Health Sciences at Curtin University, based at the Curtin Perth campus in Building 401, Room 362. She is recognized as a PBS Course Developer and Lecturer, contributing to the development and delivery of postgraduate qualifications in Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Complex Communication Needs (CCN). In partnership with Microboards Australia, she has helped create these programs, including the Post Graduate Certificate in PBS and the Post Graduate Certificate in CCN, which now offer government-supported places to enhance accessibility for practitioners and teachers. Her work emphasizes practical training in behaviour support and communication strategies for individuals with disabilities.
With over 27 years of experience in the therapy and behaviour support fields, Debbie Lobb is a speech pathologist by background and continues as a Specialist Behaviour Support Practitioner. She supports people and families directly while developing training programs and providing consultancy services to the disability sector. As Professional Services Director at Microboards Australia, she initially collaborated on family leadership initiatives for behaviour support and maintains involvement in advancing practices such as the ANS model, as presented at the ASID 2025 Conference. Her contributions extend to events like workshops on Positive Behaviour Support for families in Geraldton, promoting evidence-based approaches in disability services. Through her roles, she bridges academic education with professional practice, fostering skills in positive behaviour support and complex communication needs.
