Danielle Bull serves as an Associate Lecturer (Teaching Scholar) in Occupational Therapy within the Faculty of Health at Southern Cross University, located on the Gold Coast campus. She earned a Bachelor of Human Movement Studies from Australian Catholic University (ACU) and a Master of Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney, complemented by additional qualifications including MAEPRS and MAOT. With more than 20 years of clinical experience as an occupational therapist, Bull has focused her academic career on advancing occupational therapy practices through teaching and research contributions at Southern Cross University.
Bull co-authored the publication 'Occupational Therapy Group Interventions in Oncology: A Scoping Review,' published in 2020 in the American Journal of Occupational Therapy, collaborating with Anthea Udovicich, Kitty Foley, and Nasim Salehi. During this period, she was pursuing a PhD and held the position of Lecturer in Occupational Therapy. She presented 'Innovated Approaches to Pilot Retraining: Integration of Occupational Therapy Practices' in the Australian Occupational Therapy Journal in 2023. Her master's dissertation stemmed from a decade-long collaboration with Associate Professor Tim Mavin's aviation research team at Griffith University, investigating difficulties experienced by pilots in aviation settings. Bull delivered a keynote address at the OTAUS 2023 conference. In 2025, as part of Southern Cross University's partnership with Serpentine Gallery for the UNRULE exhibition on neurodiversity and autism, she facilitated workshops on sensory modulation, sensory systems, reset tools, executive functioning challenges, and compassionate support strategies for neurodiverse children, targeting educators, parents, caregivers, and health professionals. Additionally, she served as an invited speaker on the role of occupational therapists in research, as noted in university communications. Her work underscores practical applications of occupational therapy in clinical, aviation, oncology, and neurodiversity contexts.
