Dr. Damian Lenzo is a Lecturer in Economics at Curtin University, part of the School of Accounting, Economics and Finance within Curtin Business School. He previously conducted his doctoral research in the Department of Economics at the University of Western Australia, where he earned his Doctor of Philosophy. His PhD thesis, titled 'Essays on production networks and macroeconomics,' was completed in 2024.
Lenzo's research interests encompass macroeconomics, network economics, and applied econometrics. His publications include 'Debt, inflation and the shape of the global pandemic recovery,' co-authored with Yixiao Zhou and Rod Tyers and published in Macroeconomic Dynamics in 2026, and 'Industries on the edge: The most exposed sectors to microeconomic shocks,' with Girish Bahal in Economics Letters in 2023. Other works feature a publication in Economics Letters in 2023 and contributions to Macroeconomic Dynamics in 2026. His working papers include 'Deconstructing Aggregate Fluctuations' (2025), 'Intermediate Inputs, Networks, and Aggregate Volatility' (2024), 'The Effect of Supply Base Diversification on the Propagation of Shocks' with Girish Bahal (2023), 'Aggregate Fluctuations, Network Effects and Covid-19' (2023), 'Beyond Domar Weights: A New Measure of Systemic Importance in Production Networks' (2023), and 'How production networks amplify shocks' (2022). Additional ongoing projects address multisourcing and supply chain disruptions, production networks and corporate taxation, propagation of credit shocks through bank networks, and money demand with household wealth shocks. Lenzo has presented research at events such as the 36th PhD Conference in Economics and Business at UWA and workshops including those at the Reserve Bank of Australia.
