Craig A. Anderson is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Iowa State University, renowned for his pioneering work in social and personality psychology, particularly on aggression and violence. He received his B.A. in Psychology and Sociology from Butler University in 1976, M.A. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1978 (advisor: Lee Ross), and Ph.D. in Psychology from Stanford University in 1980 (advisor: J. Merrill Carlsmith). Anderson's career trajectory includes serving as Assistant Professor (1980-1985) and Associate Professor (1985-1988) at Rice University, Visiting Professor of Psychology at The Ohio State University (1984-1985), Full Professor at the University of Missouri-Columbia from 1992, and joining Iowa State University in 1999 as Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychology, a role he held until 2005.
