She has obtained funding for initiatives such as the project on binaural beats for sleep induction supported by DENSO Automotive Systems Australia. Key publications include 'Sleep Hygiene Practices: Where to Now?' (2022), 'How do sleepwear and bedding fibre types affect sleep quality: A systematic review and meta-analysis' (2024), 'The effects of moderate to vigorous aerobic exercise on the sleep need of sedentary young adults' (2013), 'Respiratory events and periodic breathing in cyclists sleeping at 3,650 m altitude' (2002, Journal of Applied Physiology), and 'The Valsalva maneuver: its effect on intra-abdominal pressure and safety issues during resistance exercise'. Her research has accumulated over 5,600 citations on Google Scholar, demonstrating substantial impact in sleep science and exercise physiology. Additionally, she has delivered keynote speeches, such as at the IEEE Lifesciences Conference in 2017, mentored numerous higher degree research students, and provided expert commentary in University of Sydney news articles on sleep improvement strategies, coffee naps, and sleep hygiene.
