About Cesar

Dr Cesar Orsini is a dentist and an experienced academic in Health Professions Education, serving as Associate Professor in Medical Education and Course Director for the Postgraduate Clinical Education and Leadership programmes at Norwich Medical School, University of East Anglia, UK. He holds a Doctorate in Health Professions Education from the University of Glasgow (2017), a Master of Education from Universidad del Desarrollo, Chile (2012), a Master of Stomatology from Universidad Andres Bello, Chile (2009), and a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the same institution (2009). Additional qualifications include Senior Fellow of Advance HE (SFHEA, 2020), Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA, 2016), and Fellow of the Recognising Excellence in Teaching Scheme at the University of Glasgow (2016). His career began in private dental practice and military dental service in Chile (2010-2017), followed by roles as Clinical Teaching Fellow in Oral Surgery at Universidad Andres Bello (2011-2012) and Universidad San Sebastian (2012-2013). A BEME systematic review and framework synthesis based on Self-determination Theory' (Medical Teacher, 2025), 'Error-based learning in health professions education: AMEE Guide No. 191' (Medical Teacher, 2026), 'Ten tips for supporting clinical teachers’ motivation to teach: A self-determination theory perspective' (Canadian Family Physician, 2026), and 'A Leadership Guide to Applying the Job Demands-Resources (JD-R) Theory for Faculty Engagement and Burnout Prevention in Health Professions Education: AMEE Guide No. 194' (Medical Teacher, 2026). His contributions have earned awards such as the ADEE 40th Anniversary Scholarship (2016), Best BEME Review Award (2025), and Alumni Award for Research (2015).
