Emeritus Professor Carolyn Dickie serves in the Faculty of Business and Law at Curtin University, within the School of Management and Marketing. She earned her PhD in management from Curtin University, complemented by post-graduate teaching degrees. Her professional journey includes extensive experience in private industry across diverse sectors, fostering skills applicable to both business and academia. At Curtin, she commenced as a sessional lecturer in the School of Management, transitioned to a full-time lecturer role after more than a decade, and ascended to prominent leadership positions, notably as Deputy Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Curtin Business School. These roles underscore her contributions to university administration, curriculum development, and academic leadership in business education.
Professor Dickie's research focuses on human resource management, international business, teaching and learning innovations, PhD student experiences, ethics and sustainability in small and medium enterprises, expatriate integration and work-life balance in sectors like mining, global business strategies, procurement processes, diversity management, and student engagement in business ethics. Her scholarly output includes co-authored books such as 'Cornerstones of Management: Skills in Practice' with Laurence Dickie, 'Diversity Management' with Zhanna Soldan, and 'Global Strategy: A Step-by-Step to a Successful Business Venture Across Borders' (2013).
