J. Andrew Woods, known as Dr. Andy Woods, is Dean and Professor of Pharmacy at Wingate University School of Pharmacy. He earned a B.S. from the University of Tennessee-Martin and a Pharm.D. from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center. Board Certified in Pharmacotherapy (BCPS), Woods joined Wingate University in 2009 as Assistant Professor of Pharmacy and advanced to Associate Professor before becoming Professor and Chair of the Department of Translational Science and Inpatient Practice. After serving as Interim Dean for six months, he was appointed permanent Dean of the School of Pharmacy. His expertise encompasses respiratory diseases and disorders, specifically chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and asthma, drug-induced diseases, ADHD, stroke, and seizures or epilepsy.
Woods' research focuses on pharmacy practice, particularly in pharmacotherapy for respiratory conditions, drug-induced adverse effects, and educational innovations.
