Dr. Ananya Bhattacharya is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Management within Monash Business School at Monash University. She completed her PhD in supply chain and operations from the University of Melbourne. Her research expertise encompasses buyer-supplier relationships, supply chain collaboration, sustainability, innovation, food supply chains, food waste, and circular economy. As an education-focused academic, she is affiliated with the Monash Sustainable Development Institute's affiliates program and contributes to Impact Labs. Since joining Monash University in 2013, she has held the position of Senior Lecturer, engaging in projects aligned with UN Sustainable Development Goals such as Zero Hunger, Affordable and Clean Energy, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Industry Innovation and Infrastructure, and Responsible Consumption and Production.
Bhattacharya's research contributions include serving as Chief Investigator in the project 'Manufacturing Sector Circular Economy Capabilities: Identifying Enablers, Barriers, and Enhancements,' funded by Sustainability Victoria, in collaboration with local councils, small and medium-sized businesses, and colleagues including Professor Amrik Sohal and Dr. Alka Nand. She has also secured internal grants to investigate food waste in food service businesses and the hospitality industry.
