Dr. Alyssa E. Bautista is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center, serving as an Attending Neurohospitalist and Director of the Hospitalist Neurology Program. In this leadership role, she oversees neurology inpatient and consultative services across NewYork-Presbyterian Milstein Hospital, Westchester Hospital, and Allen Hospital. A clinician dedicated to the inpatient care of acute neurological disorders and emergencies, Dr. Bautista holds a subspecialty in stroke and vascular neurology. She is double board-certified in Neurology and Vascular Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. She completed an internship in Internal Medicine at New York Medical College-Metropolitan Hospital Center from 2014 to 2015, followed by a residency in Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine-Jackson Memorial Hospital from 2015 to 2018, and a fellowship in Vascular Neurology at the University of California, San Diego, from 2018 to 2019. Throughout her career, she has been honored for her commitment to education, humanism, and patient care, receiving the Lewis P. Rowland Teaching Award in 2021 from the Columbia Neurology Residency Program and the Outstanding Teacher of the Year award in 2021 from Columbia Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Other accolades include Most Outstanding Prelim Intern and the Lisl Y. Huffaker Award for Compassion in Medicine.
