Aimee Tingey is a Lecturer in the School of Health and Clinical Sciences at the University of Western Australia, affiliated with the Western Australian Centre for Rural Health (WACRH). She holds the professional accreditation of Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP). In her role as Associate Lecturer at WACRH, Aimee Tingey works with Exercise Physiology and Exercise Science students and local community members to deliver student-led service learning programs. These programs focus on physical activity and encourage participation in safe and evidence-based exercise interventions. Aimee Tingey supports students during their rural placements and facilitates access to Exercise Physiology-based services for members of rural and remote communities who often have chronic diseases.
Aimee Tingey contributes to research at WACRH on the experiences of students and clients in rural student teaching clinics. This project seeks to understand the value of student-led rural allied health clinics to the community and the learning impact for students across disciplines such as speech pathology, exercise physiology, physiotherapy, chiropractic, and audiology. In 2023, Aimee Tingey was selected as a finalist in the Rising Star category of the Rural Health Excellence Awards organized by Rural Health West.
