Dr. Afzal Mahmood is an Assistant Professor of Economics in the Faculty of Management Sciences at the Institute of Management Sciences (Pak-AIMS) in Lahore, Pakistan. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics, earned between 2012 and 2018, with his doctoral thesis focused on 'Fiscal Implications of Trade Liberalisation: A Case Study of Pakistan.' His professional experience includes his current role at Pak-AIMS and prior association with the National College of Business Administration & Economics. At Pak-AIMS, Dr. Mahmood actively contributes to institutional governance and academic development through multiple committee appointments. He serves as Convener of the Disciplinary Committee, Character Building Society, and Result/Regulation Audit Committee. In addition, he is a Member of the Research Committee and Research Journal Committee, underscoring his commitment to research promotion and regulatory oversight within the institution. He also holds a position on the Advisory Board of the Journal of Business and Economic Options.
