Adam Kolatorowicz, PhD, serves as Professor of Anatomy at the DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine on the Knoxville campus of Lincoln Memorial University. He holds the positions of Vice Chair of Anatomy and Executive Director of the Anatomical Donation Program, where he manages donor services, teaches anatomical sciences to medical and graduate students, and organizes annual memorial services honoring anatomical donors. Dr. Kolatorowicz earned his Doctor of Philosophy from The Ohio State University in 2015, with dissertation research on patterns of morphological integration in modern human crania using geometric morphometrics. Earlier, he completed a Bachelor of Science honors capstone thesis on the reconstruction and analysis of skeletal remains from Wedron Mounds at Northern Illinois University in 2002. Since October 2017, he has contributed as a national faculty member and item writer and reviewer for the Clinical Department of Foundational Biomedical Sciences, Division of Anatomy.
Dr. Kolatorowicz conducts research in anatomical variation, with expertise in skeletal biology, human anatomy, forensic anthropology, morphometrics, osteology, forensic archaeology, gross anatomy, bone biology, dissection, and taphonomy. His publications include "Mechanical Angle and Its Relationship to Intercondylar Fossa Stenosis: An Anatomical Donor Study" (Cureus, 2025), "Career choice and interdisciplinary education in forensic pathology: a cross-sectional study" (2024 and 2026), "Morphology of the Lumbar Plexus with Application for Lateral Lumbar Interbody Fusion (LLIF): A Pilot Cadaveric Study" (2020), "Activity level influences the likelihood of developing knee osteoarthritis" (2019), "Craniometric Data Analysis and Estimation of Biodistance" (2016), "Observer error in digitizing endobasicranial coordinate landmarks" (2016), and "Testing the Applicability of Six Macroscopic Skeletal Aging Techniques on a Modern Southeast Asian Sample" (Forensic Science International, 2014). He has participated in American Association of Clinical Anatomists meetings and served on committees including the NBOME Awards Committee and bylaws committees.
