JOB SUMMARY
Lake Region State College is accepting applications for a Wind Energy Technician Instructor. Responsibilities include teaching courses within the Lake Region State College Wind Energy Technician Program. The successful applicant will have the ability to climb, work, and teach students at heights up to 350 feet within a wind turbine; must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis; possess the ability to work and teach outdoors in all seasons; may require extended overnight travel to support workforce training activities; and must hold a valid driver's license.
Duties include teaching fundamental and advanced hydraulic theory with practical laboratory application; mechanical systems; workplace safety standards; electrical theory; motor and generator theory; programmable logic controllers (PLC); practical motor control; and inventory control methods within the Wind Energy Technician curriculum.
The instructor will provide workforce training in electrical systems, fluid power theory, practical application, and workplace safety standards to students and industry groups. Responsibilities also include assisting with curriculum development and enhancement of existing and new courses to meet industry needs.
Minimum Requirements
Requires an AAS Degree in wind energy or related field and/or a combination of education and experience sufficient for the position. Must be eligible to obtain a career and technical education teaching credential.
