Temporary, Part-Time Nursing Instructor - (Unsolicited)
Job Summary/Basic Function
The Wehrheim School of Nursing is accepting applications for a temporary, part-time instructor responsible for teaching undergraduate (RN-BSN) and graduate (MSN and DNP) courses with an academic workload of 9 credit hours, or less, per semester, and no more than three preparations per semester. Courses are taught face-to-face and in fully online modalities.
The purpose of this posting is to generate a pool of qualified faculty. Applications submitted will be reviewed on an as needed basis based on enrollment. Anyone meeting the qualifications may be contacted for an interview and potentially hired when a need exists. In the event that you are interviewed but not immediately hired, your application will remain in the department's pool of qualified faculty.
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Nursing or related discipline.
- Active, unencumbered PA RN license (or be eligible for).
- Evidence of ability to successfully teach diverse student populations.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal communication skills.
- Commitment to inclusive practices and working with diverse student populations.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
- Access to reliable high-speed internet connection and personal computer.
- Successful interview.
- Successful demonstration of ability to facilitate online learning and/or complete a clinical supervisions visit.
- Successful completion of three background checks.
Additional Required Qualifications for FNP Program faculty
- Active, unencumbered PA CRNP license (or be eligible for).
- National certification as a nurse practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in nursing (PhD or DNP) or related discipline.
- Prior college-level teaching experience.
