P/T Custodian (Evening)
Position Announcement
Under the direction of the Custodial Manger, performs a full range of regular and recurring custodial duties for Utah Tech University.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintenance of assigned University building(s).
- Cleans and maintains floors by vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, waxing and cleaning carpet.
- Cleans and supplies restrooms, using disinfectant and acid chemicals.
- Cleans and maintains entrances to building(s) and perimeter of buildings(s), such as picking-up trash, removing gum, graffiti, cobwebs etc.
- Collects and disposes of garbage.
- Wash walls, whiteboards, furniture, remove chewing gum, smudge, black marks, graffiti etc.
- Wash windows and window frames.
- Assists with special projects throughout the campus as directed by Custodial Manger and Lead Custodian.
- Clean and maintain assigned areas and equipment.
- Perform inside and outside manual labor.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age by the end of August 2026
- Establish and maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees and those contacted in the scope of work.
- Understand and follow oral and written directions.
- Work independently in the absence of supervision.
Working Conditions and Typical Physical/ Mental Demands: Exposure to conditions such as fumes, noxious odors, dust, mists, gases and poor ventilation, as well as exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals. Moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25 - 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or10-25 pounds of force frequently. Physical demands include climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling and feeling.
