Professor/Associate/Assistant Professor in Applied Mathematics
Job Description
The successful candidate is expected to deliver lectures and tutorials in the areas such as real analysis, complex analysis, partial differential equations, functional analysis, graph theory or similar areas depending on the evolving needs of the department. The successful candidates are also expected to supervise undergraduate and graduate students in research and contribute to the university in terms of service and administration.
Job Requirement
Candidates should have a PhD degree in mathematics or a closely aligned discipline, ideally with few years of teaching/research experience at a university or equivalent after completion of PhD degree. Successful candidates should be a strong team player with good communication skills and high sense of responsibility. They should be self-motivated and able to motivate others. Fluency in English and strong knowledge/experience in international higher education are required. Successful candidates are expected to be committed to excellence in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. Preference will be given to candidates with demonstrable ability to undertake independent research leading to outcomes with a strong impact, such as publication in high quality, internationally recognized, indexed journals and scholarly presses. Academic rank will be determined in accordance with the successful candidate’s experience and accomplishments.
Benefits and Appointment Terms
Commencing salaries will be commensurate with qualifications and relevant experience. Fringe benefits include housing allowance, leave, social insurance and commercial insurance. Appointments to the position will initially be made on a fixed-term contract with mutual agreement.
