W2 Tenure Track Assistant Professor (with tenure track to W3); to begin as soon as possible.
Scientific Environment
The professorship will be assigned to the TUM Campus Straubing for Biotechnology and Sustainability (TUMCS) and integrated into the scientific environment of process engineering, bio-based material sciences, bioprocess engineering, as well as into the interdisciplinary research landscape related to bioeconomy at TUM and the university’s broader research environment. Further opportunities for collaboration exist with working groups at the TUM School of Engineering and Design and with the Munich Institute of Integrated Materials, Energy and Process Engineering (MEP).
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include research and teaching, as well as the promotion of early-career scientists. We seek to appoint an expert in the field of Mechanical Process Engineering, with a focus on Circular Economy; e.g. industrial processes for recycling, environment and sustainable manufacturing. Teaching responsibilities include courses in mechanical process engineering relevant for several of the university's bachelor’s and master’s degree programs, like Sustainable Energy and Processes, Chemical Biotechnology, and Sustainable Engineering for Materials and Processes
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated excellent achievements in research and teaching in an internationally recognized scientific environment, relative to the relevant career level. A university degree and an outstanding doctoral degree or equivalent scientific qualification, as well as pedagogical aptitude, are prerequisites. Substantial research experience abroad is expected. Leadership experience, experience in industry as well as the proven ability to acquire and lead cooperative research projects are desired.
