Part-time Faculty Nutrition Instructor
Montgomery College accepts applications for Adjunct/Part-time Faculty on a continuous basis. Applications may be reviewed periodically based on the student enrollment needs. The listing of a course in the schedule of classes as “TBA” does not constitute an assignment. The hiring decision for part-time faculty involves an academic judgment and shall be determined at Management’s sole discretion.
The Montgomery College, Germantown Campus, is currently accepting applications for possible openings as a part-time faculty member teaching in the Nutrition discipline, including courses such as Introduction to Nutrition, Nutrition Through the Life Cycle, and Food Science and Technology. We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated educator who exhibits a high degree of professionalism, a strong commitment to our students, and demonstrates the ability to motivate and educate in an engaging manner.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Faculty member will teach Introduction to Nutrition, Nutrition Through the Life Cycle, Food Science and Technology, and other courses related to Nutrition Science, mentor and advise students, and participate in department and college affairs.
- Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts; evaluates and grades students' exams, assignments, and papers.
- Teaches across multiple delivery modalities, including face-to-face, online, hybrid, blended, compressed, and accelerated formats.
- Teaches at any of the three physical campuses (TP/SS, Rockville, and Germantown), online, and at area high schools in Montgomery County.
Required Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Nutrition Science, Dietetics, Biology, or a closely related Biological Science is required.
- At least one year of college-level teaching experience (associate, bachelor's, or master's level) is required.
- Successful candidates must be willing to teach classes on any of our three Montgomery college campuses or off-campus locations.
