About Zahid

Dr. Zahid Hussain serves as an Associate Professor in the School of Management, Faculty of Management, Law and Social Sciences at the University of Bradford, where he joined full-time in 2002. He has extensive teaching experience across all levels, including executive education, MBA programs, and distance learning. Prior to this, he was a Lecturer at Sheffield Hallam University starting January 1999 and an Academic Assistant at the Open University Business School from January 1997. His academic qualifications include a PhD from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (UMIST), MSc from Manchester School of Management, Sheffield Hallam University, MA from Sheffield Hallam University, MSc and Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (LPC) from the University of Huddersfield, BA (Hons), Graduate Diploma, and DipHE from the University of Bradford.

Dr. Hussain has held significant leadership roles such as Director of Studies for MBA and MA International Business Studies, Deputy Chief Secretary (UK), Chair of Mitigating Circumstances Committee, Director of MA Management, and Student Liaison Tutor/Advisor for Engineering Design and Technology students. He is a member of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), British Computer Society (BCS), British Academy of Management (BAM), and UK Academy for Information Systems (UKAIS). Currently, he acts as external examiner for the University of West London Business School, with previous appointments at Aston University Business School, Arab Open University Business School (Kuwait), and University of East London. His research focuses on Big Data, Business Intelligence, E-Commerce and E-Government Systems, Dynamics of IS/IT Governance, Innovation and Technology Management, Circular Economy, and Sustainable use of IT. He supervises applied industry-based research involving organizations including NATO, SAP, Mercedes, Emirates Airline, British Telecom, Mauritius Government, Asda, PACE, BBC, Airbus UK, NHS, and various SMEs. With 53 publications, notable works include 'R&D intensity, knowledge creation process and new product performance: The mediating role of international R&D teams' (2020, Journal of Business Research), 'The role of a digital engineering platform in appropriating the creation of new work-related mind-set and organisational discourse in a large multi-national company' (2018, International Journal of Information Management), 'Technology as a Disruptive Agent: Intergenerational Perspectives' (2018, Information Systems Frontiers), and 'Corporate Sustainability' (2013, Springer). Several papers have been nominated as best papers or best read by academics. He regularly presents on learning and improvement topics at local community radio MACS and engages with the local business network SMBF.
