Yuzhen Ye is Professor of Informatics and Computer Science and Chair of the Department of Computer Science in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing, and Engineering at Indiana University Bloomington. She leads the Ye Lab, focusing on bioinformatics, computational metagenomics, microbiome research, protein bioinformatics, biological network analysis, and CRISPR-Cas immune systems in bacterial genomes and metagenomes. Her research develops algorithms, software tools, and machine learning approaches for analyzing large-scale genomic, metagenomic, and proteogenomic data, with applications to understanding microbial communities, phage-bacteria interactions, and host-microbiome associations.
