Dr. Yuvraj Arjun Shinde is an Associate Professor and Head of the Department of Plant Protection at the Shri Vaishnav Institute of Agriculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya, Indore. He holds a Master of Science in Agriculture (M.Sc. Ag.) and a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Agricultural Entomology. His primary research and teaching focus is Agricultural Entomology within the domain of plant protection. With more than nine years of experience in teaching agricultural sciences, Dr. Shinde has established himself as a key figure in the department, overseeing academic programs and research initiatives related to pest management and sustainable agricultural practices.
Dr. Shinde has made notable contributions to academic publishing and editorial work in agriculture and allied sciences. He has served as publisher and editor for multiple edited volumes, including 'Agroforestry: A Sustainable Farming Approach' (2022), 'Multidisciplinary Research in Agriculture and Allied Sciences' (2023), 'Multidisciplinary Approach: Enhanced Agriculture Production in a Sustainable Way,' and 'Strategies for Sustainable Agriculture.' These publications address critical topics such as sustainable farming, biotechnology tools in pest management, and enhanced crop production. Additionally, he has authored or co-authored book chapters, including 'Therapeutic Value of Earthworms to Achieve Sustainable Development Goal Number 3' (2023) and 'Biofortification: A Frontier Novel Approach to Enrich Micronutrients' (2024). His scholarly involvement extends to peer review, serving on the reviewer boards for the International Journal of Plant Biotechnology and Research and Reviews: Journal of Crop Science and Technology. Dr. Shinde has participated in professional training programs, such as the Online Training Programme on SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production conducted by the National Institute of Disaster Management in collaboration with the Centre of Excellence in Sustainable Development at Shri Vaishnav Vidyapeeth Vishwavidyalaya. He also contributes to university administration as a member of the Students Grievance Redressal Committee. Through these roles, Dr. Shinde advances education and research in agricultural entomology and plant protection.
