Ms Yuhiko Fujiwara is a Lecturer in the School of Humanities, College of Creative Arts, Design and Humanities at Adelaide University. She specializes in Japanese language instruction, delivering courses across intermediate and advanced levels. Her current teaching portfolio includes LANG 1031 Japanese 2A for 2024 and 2025, which develops students' proficiency in spoken and written Japanese at a post-introductory level while fostering intercultural competence through authentic materials. She also teaches LANG 1032 Japanese 2B, LANG 3007 Japanese 3B, and LANG 3034 Advanced Language Studies: Translation and Research for both years. Additionally, she instructs Japanese IIB (LANG 1504), a course held on Wednesdays from 12:10pm to 2pm at the Adelaide City Campus East, Napier 209.
Prior to the formation of Adelaide University from the merger of the University of Adelaide and University of South Australia, Ms Fujiwara served as a lecturer of Japanese at UniSA, where she coordinated the Japanese 3 program, as highlighted in the Annual Japanese Language Teachers' Conference 2021 programme. Earlier in her career, she was listed as a casual lecturer in the Directory of Japanese Studies in Australia and New Zealand in 2003. Her engagement with Japanese language education extends to secondary level, evidenced by her repeated mentions in South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) annual reports between 2011 and 2015, indicating contributions to Japanese language assessment or related activities. Through her dedicated teaching, Ms Fujiwara contributes to the training of students in Japanese language proficiency and cultural understanding within the Humanities discipline at Adelaide University.
