Professor Yaqing Mao serves as Party Secretary of the University Party Committee and Vice President (Administration) at Beijing Normal-Hong Kong Baptist University (BNBU). He received his PhD degree from Beijing Normal University. His research specializations include educational leadership, school management improvement, quality of higher education, and management. He has published over 10 books and more than 100 papers in recognized periodicals. Previously, he was Director of the Research Centre of Principal Leadership at Beijing Normal University. His appointment at BNBU was announced in an official ceremony on March 30, 2020.
Professor Mao has served as a senior visiting scholar at the University of London and the University of Michigan. He is Deputy Head of the National Working Group of Experts on the Training of Primary and Secondary School Principals. He is Vice Chairman of the National Association for the Training of Primary and Middle School Principals. He received the New Century Excellent Talent Award from the Ministry of Education of China in 2005. In 2010, he received the Outstanding Research Award of China Academic Humanities and Social Sciences from the Ministry of Education of China. His publications and leadership roles contribute to advancements in educational leadership and principal training in China.
