About Vivek Kumar

Prof. Dr. Vivek Kumar Sehgal is Professor and Head of the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Information Technology at Jaypee University of Information Technology, Waknaghat, Solan, Himachal Pradesh, India, since August 2021. He joined the institution in July 2003 as Lecturer and progressed through Senior Lecturer (July 2005–June 2010), Assistant Professor (June 2010–July 2013), and Associate Professor (July 2013–June 2021). Sehgal obtained his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, Dehradun, in 2007, with the thesis 'Stochastic Communication and Packets Flow Control in Networks.' He also holds an M.Tech. in Process Control from Netaji Subhas Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2002, and a B.Tech. in Instrumentation Engineering from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering & Technology, Longowal, in 2000, graduating with honors. He qualified the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in Instrumentation Engineering in 2000 and earned National Cadet Corps certificates A, B, and C.

Sehgal's scholarly contributions include publications in prestigious journals such as IEEE Transactions on Parallel and Distributed Systems ('Markovian Models Based Stochastic Communication in Networks-in-Package,' 2015), Sustainable Computing: Informatics and Systems ('Energy-efficient and Sustainable Communication in Optical Networks on Chip,' 2020; 'The MPEG-4 based energy efficient application traffic modelling and synthesis for network-on-chip architecture,' 2019), The Journal of Supercomputing ('Master-based routing algorithm and communication-based cluster topology for 2D NoC,' 2015), and New Generation Computing ('CASE-CF: Context Aware Smart Epidemic Control Framework,' 2021). He received the Young Scientist Scholarship Award and Travelling Grant Award from the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, in 2009. As the first doctoral graduate in Computer Science and Engineering from Uttarakhand Technical University, he holds Fellow status in the Institution of Engineers (India), Senior Membership in IEEE and ACM, and serves as Vice President for the International Accreditation Organization.
