Rate My Professor Vicki Kruse

Recognized twice for her outstanding contributions, Vicki Kruse was honored with the C.W. Coons Distinguished Service Award in 2015 and 2024 at the Vice Chancellor’s Academic Honors Convocation. This esteemed award is presented annually to a faculty or staff member exemplifying exceptional service to Indiana University Columbus and the surrounding community. Over the course of her career, Kruse has witnessed and adapted to substantial changes in campus culture and leadership, having served under five vice chancellors. She adeptly managed operational challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic and contributed to significant advancements, including the establishment of intercollegiate varsity athletics programs. George Towers, Head of the Division of Liberal Arts, nominated her for the 2024 award, praising her profound institutional knowledge, tireless work ethic, natural leadership, warm and welcoming presence, and consistent support for colleagues and students alike. Her dedication has also been noted in acknowledgments within scholarly works, such as the Journal of the Georgia Philological Association and books like Transnational Indians in the North American West, where her administrative assistance was invaluable. Kruse continues to embody the spirit of service that defines excellence at the university.
