Vadim Bogush, DSc in Physics and Mathematics and Professor, serves as Rector of the Belarussian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR) since May 24, 2018. Born in 1975 in Bobruisk, Mogilev region, he graduated from the Faculty of Radioengineering and Electronics at BSUIR in 1997 with the qualification of Engineer of Radiotechnical Systems. He enrolled in postgraduate studies the same year and defended his Candidate of Engineering Sciences thesis in 2000. In 2005, he was awarded the title of Associate Professor in Electronics and Microelectronics. In 2007, Bogush received his Doctor of Sciences degree in physics and mathematics and was titled Professor.
Bogush began his career at BSUIR as an assistant, associate professor, and doctoral student, later serving as Head of the Department of Metrology and Standardization. He held positions as Vice-Rector for Education and Vice-Rector for Scientific Work at the Academy of Public Administration under the aegis of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee of the Republic of Belarus, and First Deputy Minister of Education from July 1, 2014, to May 2018. His research specializations include safety management, electromagnetic and information security in technical systems, development of theory and methods for new elements and materials in electronic engineering including micro- and nanoelectronics, and application of information and communication systems in management, educational processes, and scientific activities. He is the author of more than 140 research, teaching, and methodical works, including 5 monographs (one individual and one published abroad), more than 40 scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals, 4 patents of the Republic of Belarus, and 8 teaching aids. Master's theses are defended annually under his supervision. Married.
