Prof. Dr. V. Yegnanarayanan serves as a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education, a position he has held since 2020. A distinguished mathematician with more than 35 years of teaching and research experience, he specializes in Graph Theory. He obtained his Ph.D. from Annamalai University in 1996. His academic journey includes visiting scientist roles at the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in 2000 and the Institute of Mathematical Sciences in 1995. Earlier fellowships encompass the CSIR Junior Research Fellowship in 1991 and Senior Research Fellowship under the Indo-French Research Project-IFCPAR at Annamalai University in 1992. Yegnanarayanan has also been recognized as a Ph.D. research supervisor by Anna University, Chennai since 2004 and Bharathiar University, Coimbatore since 2008. He contributes to academic governance as a member of the Academic Council at Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education since 2021 and previously at VFSTR University.

His research focuses on graph colorings, distance graphs, domination numbers, and applications to networks, including biological systems. Yegnanarayanan has authored over 80 publications, including 54 journal articles, 5 book chapters, and 10 conference proceedings. He co-edited the Proceedings of the Tenth International Conference on Mathematics and Computing (2024). He has successfully guided six doctoral theses on topics such as vertex coloring and domination numbers of graphs (2017), distance and product graphs (2016), graph labeling variations (2015), and graph magic labeling (2004, 2003). Awards include the Dr. Sarvapelli Radhakrishnan Distinguished Professor Award (2021), Indo Asian Research Excellence Award (2021), and Sentinel of Science Award from Publons (2006). A prolific reviewer for Mathematical Reviews of the American Mathematical Society since 2007, he holds memberships in professional bodies such as the American Mathematical Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, and Ramanujan Mathematical Society.
