About V.

Dr. V. Rajini serves as Professor and Head of the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Sri Sivasubramaniya Nadar College of Engineering. Holding B.E., M.E., and Ph.D. degrees, she joined SSN on November 9, 2000, and was promoted to Professor on August 14, 2008. Her research specializations include high voltage engineering, power electronics and drives, high voltage applications in process technologies, hybrid electric vehicles, power electronics for high voltage applications, solar photovoltaic systems, and wind energy systems. A distinguished academic advisor, graduate mentor, and accomplished researcher, she has guided 13 Ph.D. scholars and 36 postgraduate students. She has been instrumental in establishing the high-voltage laboratory at SSN and actively involved in NBA, NAAC, and NIRF accreditation activities. Appointed as a Margadarshak by AICTE, she mentors other institutions and has organized multiple national and international conferences, including the Fifth International Conference on Electrical Energy Systems (ICEES 2019). She delivered a tutorial at ICRERA in the USA, traveled extensively for academic and research engagements, and mentored students in developing a low-cost open-sourced motor controller unit for electric vehicles, which won first prize from Tata Motors.

Dr. Rajini has received the SSN Best Faculty Award, CTS Best Faculty Award, Distinguished Researcher Award, Leading Scientist Award, and Bharat Jyoti Award. Her publications include two books: Design of Electrical Machines co-authored with V.S. Nagarajan (Pearson Publishers, 2017, ISBN 978-93-325-8557-7) and Electric Motor Drives (Pearson Publishers, 2019, ISBN-10: 938934266X).
