About Uwe

Associate Professor Uwe Roehm serves in the School of Computer Science within the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Sydney, where he holds the position of Deputy Head of School (Research) and organizes the Database Research Group. He completed his PhD in Computer Science at ETH Zurich in 2002. Roehm joined the University of Sydney in 2004 and has progressed to Associate Professor, specializing in data engineering and big data. From 2015 to 2019, he directed the Master of Data Science program and played a key role in introducing Data Science and Computational Data Science majors to undergraduate curricula. His academic career emphasizes practical systems development in database technologies.
